While Anna is a much smaller town, it would suit a good place for peaceful living for the most part .
Right now we"re in Hampton, Virginia . We drove around seeing plenty of men gathered on their porches, with their houses needing paint and their yards littered with junk .

I think I would fear just running to the local grocery store .

It just doesn"t reflect the true nature of that community . There are no rival gangs, mostly wanna-be gangsters that want to steal your hubcaps, or garage items (happened to me more than one occasion) .

Weekends during the summer and fall bring in lots of tourists, but the touristy stuff is so spread out that you"re unlikely to find yourself trapped by them . Honda is a nice place to work; my only concern would be what would happen if you no longer worked at Honda? Would you be able to comfortably live making less, or would it be easy to find a comparable job . We are looking to retire in Ohio and Sidney seemed to fit our desire for an older home in a nice community .

Not to induce panic, but I would feel uncomfortable walking in certain areas after dark in Piqua . Some people like it in Miami/Shelby County, others loathe this area . Piqua is a very small town, has some nice people but the crime rate seems a bit high compared to other areas . As far as Sidney goes, it"s been taken off our list .
I do plan on leaving Piqua in the near future . However, they are no longer active in such events any further (thank God) .
The thing to really look for if you have children is the school systems . Piqua is desperately trying to reclaim their image (mostly wrecked due to poor management during the Knobby Cruse as Mayor Tenure) and have made a few advancements . It"s in the heart of Amish country in Eastern Ohio (SW of Canton) . South Piqua is a place that is less than desirable to live in .

Doctors also charge above the normalcy . I think you would enjoy the towns in the area .
